Pattern Key
• St / Sts: Stitch / Stitches
• Sl St: Slip Stitch
• Ch: Chain
• Sc: Single Crochet

Special Stitch
• Cluster: (Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook) 3 times. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on hook
• Whip Stitch: Using a hook or needle.

Finishing Note: This pattern creates either a scarf or infinity cowl. To make either, follow the complete pattern for the size scarf/cowl you would like to make, then after the last row of the pattern is worked follow finishing directions according to the style you would like to obtain:

  • Infinity Cowl: Cut 18” tail, fasten. Fold work in half lengthwise, turn one half over on itself (creates 1 twist). Using 18” tail, whip stitch first row together with last row worked. Fasten.
  • Scarf: Fasten work, weave tail ends to conceal.

Finishing suggestion: Using your favorite tassel method, attach 1 tassel between each cluster on first and last row of scarf (8 per side, 16 total)

Optional Border: Using a matching or contrasting color yarn, work 3 Sc into each Sc end row. Work in a continuous round for the infinity cowl style, work onto either side for the scarf style.

    Selena,

Thank you so much for this pattern. Do you happen to have or know of a video demonstrating the cluster stitch?

    Thank you so much!

This looks like a great pattern. Thank you for sharing. It came in an email from Furls Hooks. If I wanted to make the cowl in the traditional mobius method where would I begin the 180° twist? Thanks for your help and advice!

  3. Rosalie McCreary says:

Never mind. I’ve puzzled it out! The mobius method needs a long foundation before the twist. Maybe I can just make more clusters. Any advice on this??? Thanks!

Oh my, I have been looking all over for a pattern like this. Thank you for including yardage need for the different length. To bad others don’t do this as well as well written instructions. Thank you, think you.
